This ornate Biedermeier Lyra-style secretaire desk is supplied as a single 1:87 (HO) master STL and is perfect for Victorian dioramas, model railway interiors, museum miniatures and historical table-top scenes. The model faithfully reproduces the desk’s silhouette: a continuous curved upper shell (roll-top), a projecting rounded/oval work surface, two symmetrical scrolled front supports, stacked open shelves and a raised plinth. Decorative carving and inlaid marquetry from the photograph were removed to create a robust, paint-ready mesh; a central occluded patch in the source image was reconstructed by symmetry to match surrounding form. What’s included: one watertight STL at 1:87 (HO) and printed guidance for scaling to other hobby sizes. The file is optimized to minimize fragile filigree and keep shelf plate thicknesses printable at small scales. For FDM printing at HO, use 0.12–0.2 mm layer height and 0.6–0.8 mm shell; add supports beneath the forward work surface. For resin prints, 0.05–0.06 mm layer height produces crisp edges. The simplified surfaces accept washes, dry-brushing and varnish easily, letting you finish the piece to match period varnish and patina. Note: we supply a single HO master STL; if you need a split model for interior access or lighting, please edit the mesh in your 3D tool.
