Overview
This is a compact, neutral midcentury architectural prop modeled to read at HO (1:87). The form suggests a small equipment housing or architectural accessory typical of American 1940s–1960s street and station scenes: a softened rectangular footprint, rounded corners, broad shallow paneling and a subtle integrated low-profile base for predictable placement on ballast, pavement, or display bases.
What’s included
- One master STL file scaled for 1:87 (HO). This is the only STL provided. To print at other scales, scale proportionally in your slicer (scale factor = 87 / target_scale_denominator). Example: to 1:48 (O) multiply by ~1.8125 (181%).
Why this part is useful
- HO model railroaders: designed to be placed on platforms, yards, and street edges without overpowering scenes.
- Diorama builders: neutral, easy-to-paint surfaces make this an ideal kitbash base for signage or instrumentation.
- Display modelers and photographers: softened planes and filleted edges photograph well and provide scale context for figures and vehicles.
Printing and finishing tips
- Resin: 25–50 µm layers, supports placed off key visible faces. - FDM: orient base on the build plate; use a brim or thin raft and a 0.25–0.4 mm nozzle. After printing, prime and use subtle washes to reveal the shallow paneling.
Limitations
This asset was derived from a legacy MeshRef capture and edited to be intentionally generic; identity confidence is low (0.30). It is not a measured or branded replica. If you require verified dimensions, close mechanical fits, or an exact historic reproduction, request a manual review or a custom modeling job.
Available railroad scales: Z (1:220), N (1:160), HO (1:87.1), S (1:64), O (1:48)
