Detailed product overview
This model reproduces an ornate late-19th-century Japonisme pedestal/side table: an oval marble top set into a pierced and molded gilt-bronze rim, three slender branch-like vertical supports that converge into an integrated figural bird (peacock/phoenix style), a circular stepped plinth and a tripod of scroll feet with openwork apron. The bird is rendered as part of the structural shaft — head and body rising beneath the tabletop, a long openwork tail sweeping rearwards below the tabletop plane, and layered feather relief across the body and tail. The tabletop rim is pierced with a decorative foliate pattern and a raised molded edge; the feet are scroll-formed with cutout ornament consistent with cast bronze openwork.
What you get
This listing supplies one master STL modeled and delivered at 1:87 scale (HO). The master is intended for hobby printing and layout integration: a single-file mesh representing the complete pedestal (marble top, rim, supports, figural bird, plinth and tripod feet). The model preserves the silhouette relationships and feature counts called out in the source: oval pierced rim, three branch supports, integrated bird with openwork tail, stepped plinth and ornate scroll feet. The file does not include textures, decals, or color; surfaces are modeled to read as metal and stone in shape and relief rather than material shaders.
Printing and finishing notes
- Master scale: 1:87 (HO). Miniature Reality provides the 1:87 STL only; scale conversion guidance is below.
- Fine openwork: the bird tail and apron have perforations and thin feather relief. For reliable prints, enable supports under the rear tail and below the rim overhangs; consider printing with 0.1–0.2 mm layer height on resin or a 0.2–0.3 mm layer height on FDM with brim/raft for stability.
- Wall thickness: if you plan to scale up or down, ensure minimum printable wall thickness for your material (resin printers: 0.5–0.8 mm for delicate filigree; FDM: 0.8–1.2 mm). Some hollowing or thickening may be required when printing at smaller scales to avoid fragile filigree.
Scale conversion guidance and more detailed usage notes are provided in the full listing. If you need split parts or hollowing for multi-part printing, request a paid modification.
Available railroad scales: Z (1:220), N (1:160), HO (1:87.1), S (1:64), O (1:48)
