This digital model recreates a compact, suitcase-style portable reel-to-reel tape recorder from the 1960s as an HO-scale prop. The geometry preserves the recorder's signature features: two reel spindles beneath transparent dust covers, a centrally mounted rectangular control bank of stacked push-buttons, rotary knobs at the front corners, a recessed speaker grille set into a horizontal ribbed front skirt, and a folding carrying handle. The underside and rear were occluded in the source imagery and are modeled as simplified panels consistent with portable units of the era. You will receive a single master STL exported at HO (1:87). The master preserves discrete mesh groups for top-detail elements and the dust covers so you can choose to print covers in clear resin or transparent filament, or omit them for an exposed-reel look. Supports are recommended for the dust cover overhangs and the handle on FDM printers; resin printing will deliver the best result for small buttons and grille detail. Knobs and buttons are sized to be paintable and robust for light handling. If you want this model at a different scale, uniformly scale the master STL in your slicer; confirm minimum feature thickness for very small target scales. Ideal uses: mid-century dioramas, radio and studio vignettes, HO layout interiors, and tabletop displays. The model is unbranded for flexible historic or fictional applications. Recommended finishing includes priming, layered washes to emphasize ribbing and grille, and printing the dust covers in clear material for maximum realism.
