This HO-scale 1950s pocket transistor radio front panel is a production-quality, printing-ready prop for dioramas, model railroading and display models. The model faithfully preserves the visible front-face details from the reference photograph: a dense perforated speaker grille over the lower two-thirds, a circular tuning-dial bezel in the upper-right quadrant, a vertical slider/thumbwheel inset at the upper-left, a thin horizontal trim band separating the molded top section from the grille, and a small rectangular plaque on the grille’s lower-left quadrant. All readable text and brand markings have been removed to produce a neutral period-accurate prop. What you receive - One watertight STL scaled to HO / 1:87 (master file) - Orthographic six-view exports (front, right, back, left, top, bottom) - Conversion notes describing how to scale the master STL accurately for other common scales (N, OO, O, 1:48) and suggestions for hole and wall-thickness adjustments. Printing and finishing recommendations - Perforated grille: best results in SLA/resin printing at 1:87. For FDM, increase hole size slightly or use the solid-grille variant suggested in the conversion notes. - Supports: light interior supports under bezel lips improve fidelity; the front panel prints best face-up with minimal supports on the interior. - Finishing: prime with a mid-gray, paint plastic areas in period-appropriate colors, and highlight the metallic bezel and trim band with a thin metallic wash. Apply a subtle wash into the grille for depth. Usage ideas Place the printed radio on an HO living room table, café counter, or station kiosk. It’s ideal for kitbashing, scratchbuilding and small-display museum pieces. Because the model is a front-face only with a plain back, it is straightforward to inset into furniture, instrument panels or cabinets. Limitations and customization Rear mounting bosses and internal cavities were not modeled (not visible in reference). The reference image included a rectangular occlusion over part of the front face; that occluded area was left plain. If you need a full enclosure, removable bezel, or alternate-scale masters, reach out for a custom job.
