A finely detailed late-Victorian standing lady in a long blue day dress, posed beside a simple ladder-back chair with one gloved hand resting on its back while she holds a small closed book in the other. The costume reads clearly as 1890s fashion, with pronounced leg-of-mutton sleeves, a fitted buttoned bodice, a high ruffled collar and a wide brimmed hat topped with a cluster of florals.
The long skirt falls in soft vertical folds to a scalloped, trimmed hem, and the accompanying chair is a modest square-seat ladder-back that grounds the pose in a parlor or waiting-room setting. Together the figure and chair form a compact, self-contained vignette.
Ideal as a period civilian figure for a Victorian or Edwardian diorama, a model-railroad station platform or parlor scene, or a dollhouse interior. The strong costume silhouette stays legible even at small layout sizes.
