A great blue heron stands tall on a small earthen base, its long neck drawn into a gentle S-curve and its sharp yellow dagger of a bill angled forward. Wispy crest plumes trail from the back of the white-and-grey head, giving it an alert, watchful look.

Slate-blue and lavender-grey plumage layers across the folded wings and shoulders, with streaked breast feathers and long, thin greenish legs ending in splayed clawed toes. Individual feathers and leg scales are sculpted for lifelike detail.
