This compact mid-century motel blade sign is optimized as a single HO (1:87) master STL for dioramas, model-railroad layouts, and display scenes. The horizontal blade reads as a mid-1950s motel marquee — a layered face with an inset secondary layer to suggest boxed letters or neon backing, a simplified starburst accent, chamfered outer corners, and a recessed rear channel for clean mounting or splitting. The vertical post is modeled as a slightly faceted cylinder terminating in a planting stub sized to accept common landscaping pins or to be glued into foam or a resin pad. You receive one HO (1:87) master STL. No additional pre-scaled STLs are included; rescale the provided file in your slicer if you need another ratio. The mesh is prepared as a closed, assembly-friendly unit: blade, post, and stub are shaped to glue together cleanly. Small decorative elements are thickened and chamfered to improve print success in both resin and FDM workflows. Printing guidance Resin: orient post vertical, add supports under blade edges and around the base; 0.05–0.12 mm layer height recommended. FDM: use a brim or raft, 0.10–0.20 mm layer height and modest compensation to protect thin features. For two-color printing, use the recessed rear channel as the separation plane. Finishing tips Use period pastels with a bright accent for neon effects; apply light weathering washes around the mounting channel for realism. The planting stub accepts landscaping pins or can be glued into a small resin base. Origin and notes This model originates from a legacy MeshRef stub and intentionally represents a generic mid-century motel blade rather than a documented prototype. Brand names and legible advertising text are abstracted. Verify thin elements after rescaling.
