1920s Rural Highway Patrol Officer

A county or state patrol officer of the 1920s walks forward with a nightstick held down at his side and a hard, level stare. The stride is purposeful and the figure is compact, so he sits easily on a roadside or a porch step without needing much space.

He wears the pale rural patrol uniform of the interwar years: a broad flat-brim campaign hat with a sunburst badge, a buttoned shirt with pleated breast pockets and a star pinned above one, a whistle chain across the chest, jodhpur-cut breeches and tall brown riding boots. A wide leather duty belt carries a flap holster with a revolver, cartridge loops and a baton ring.
