Parade-Decorated Riding Lawn Mower

A red garden tractor style riding mower dressed up for a parade. The machine itself is fully modelled: a moulded hood with grille and headlamps, a black vinyl bucket seat, a steering wheel on a raked column, side control levers, a wide belly mower deck slung between the axles, and chunky turf tyres on small front and large rear wheels.

Over the top of that sits the decoration. Green swagged garlands loop along the hood and rear fenders, tied off with wide fabric bows, pinwheels are pinned to the bonnet, a twisted ribbon spirals up the steering column, and a blank banner is stretched between two upright poles behind the seat.

The blank banner is the useful part: paint or decal it with a club, town or dealership name and the mower becomes a small-town parade float. It also strips back to a plain groundskeeping machine for a park, golf course, cemetery, school grounds or suburban yard scene on any modern layout.
