Layered Rock Outcrop Terrain Slab

A low, wide outcrop of fractured sedimentary rock built as a single ground-hugging slab. Slabs and boulders of varying size are stacked and tilted across the surface, with sharp cleavage lines, split faces and loose scree filling the gaps between the larger blocks.

The edges thin out and blend down to ground level all the way around, so it beds into a scenic base or table without a visible step. Deep recesses and crisp upper edges take a wash and drybrush cleanly, letting you match local stone colour from grey limestone to red sandstone.

Use it as a rocky shelf beside a cutting or trackbed on a layout, as broken ground and hard cover on a wargaming table, or as a natural stone terrace in a canyon, quarry or mountainside diorama. Several placed together read as a continuous rock shelf.
