An underground miner standing at ease in a blue work shirt with rolled sleeves, heavy canvas trousers, a wide leather belt and tall rubber knee boots. A yellow hard hat carries a lamp on the brow with the cord running back to a battery on his belt.
He holds a small controller box in both hands at waist height, the pose of a haulage driver working a mine locomotive rather than a man swinging a pick. Face, boots and trousers are worked with dirt and wear.
Fits a 1950s colliery or hard-rock mine scene, a pithead yard, or a mine-railway layout with ore cars and a tipple. Group two or three around a loading point for a shift-change vignette.
