Adolescent Walrus

A young walrus modeled in a resting haul-out pose, its heavy body lying flat with the front flippers braced and the rear flippers trailing behind. Even as an adolescent it shows the species' signature pair of downward tusks, the bristled whiskered muzzle, and the thick, deeply wrinkled and folded hide across the neck and shoulders.

The sculpt captures the blubbery, tapering barrel of the torso and the stubby steering flippers that give the walrus its ungainly land silhouette. Skin creases and folds are across the whole body for a convincing painted finish.

Ideal for an Arctic or sub-polar shoreline diorama, a rocky coastal haul-out scene, or a natural-history and zoo layout. Group several together to build a basking walrus colony on ice or gravel.
