Gilled Swamp Hound

A snarling amphibious monster built like a hulking hound but armored in green scales, spiny fins, and gill-slit ridges. It crouches low on clawed, webbed feet, jaws open to bare rows of jagged teeth, with a finned spinal crest and a glowing eye that mark it as a predator of fetid wetlands.

The overlapping scales, dorsal spines, and fin membranes give this beast tremendous painting potential, from murky greens to slimy highlights and translucent fins. It comes on a textured swamp base of mud, stones, and algae.
