A leafy fern planted in a square wall-mounted planter box. Long arching fronds burst out in every direction, each one built from paired rows of narrow pinnae running down a pale green midrib, so the plant fans out well beyond the container it grows from.
The planter itself is a simple grey box with a moulded chevron relief pattern on the face and a chamfered rim, the kind of cast concrete or composite pot used on modern building frontages. The contrast between the hard geometric container and the loose organic foliage is what gives the piece its character.
Use it to dress a shopfront, an office reception wall, a courtyard or a restaurant patio in a modern layout scene. It also makes a good conservatory or hallway feature in a dollhouse interior, and several mounted in a row quickly turn a blank wall into a green facade.
