Slatted Farm Corn Crib on Stone Piers

A traditional slatted corn crib raised clear of the ground on cut stone piers. The walls are built from spaced horizontal boards painted barn red, framed by heavy timber posts and knee braces, so the crop inside can dry in the passing air.

A corrugated metal gable roof runs the length of the building with a small overhang at each end, and there are plank doors at both ends plus a hinged loading hatch on the long side, all fitted with simple iron hardware.

A staple structure for any American farmyard scene, sitting well beside a barn, granary or machine shed on a rural layout, and useful on a wargame table as a low, walkable piece of farm cover.
