Artillery Shell and Charge Pallet Load

A loaded ammunition pallet as it would sit at a Vietnam-era gun position: a heavy wooden stringer pallet carrying a bottom tier of timber crates, a middle row of cylindrical fibre powder canisters with metal lid bands, and three stacked rows of olive drab artillery shells on top.

The shells have painted yellow band markings and shaped ogives, held in place by a timber cradle frame and two wide woven cargo straps that run over the whole load and buckle down at the pallet edge. Crate slats, canister lids and pallet deck boards are individually cut.

It is a ready-made detail for a firebase or gun pit diorama, an ammunition dump, a supply depot or a rail-served military siding. On a game board it makes an excellent objective marker or cover piece.
