A bearded nineteenth-century woodsman swings a long-handled maul two-handed, driving a steel wedge home. He wears a knitted watch cap, a blue work shirt with the sleeves rolled, braces over heavy brown trousers, and tall laced logging boots.
The pose is caught at the top of the swing with the weight rolling onto the front foot, and the figure stands on a plain dirt-textured round base.
Made for 1870s-1900s logging camps, timber landings and sawmill yards on a period layout or forestry diorama.
