A turn-of-the-century railroad conductor standing on the platform in a long double-breasted navy greatcoat with brass buttons, a matching waistcoat, a white collar and a red necktie. A flat-topped conductor's cap with a gold band sits squarely on his head.

He works the job with both hands: a brass-framed hand lantern with a glazed globe hangs from his raised left hand while the right holds an open pocket watch as he checks departure time. The coat skirt, pocket flaps and creased trousers are cleanly modelled, finished with polished black shoes on a plain round base.

Purpose-built for an early-1900s station scene: calling a train away from the platform, standing at a coach vestibule, or working a night departure where the lantern becomes the focal point. He also suits a depot or interurban diorama of the same era.
