Stone-Rimmed Pool with Turbulent Water

A rectangular basin set into a thick flagstone plinth, edged all round with a course of cut tan coping blocks. The water inside is churning rather than still, worked into raised swirls and curling crests in deep blue and jade green, with a few waves breaking over the coping at one corner.

The surrounding stone deck is cracked and pitted, with loose rubble gathered along one edge, so the piece already looks weathered and lived-in before any paint goes near it.

Its stylised, agitated water suits an enchanted spring, a temple pool or a scrying basin on a fantasy board, while a calmer paint treatment turns it into an ornamental town pool or reflecting basin for a civic square.
