An earth-banked root cellar built into a grassy mound, faced with mortared fieldstone around a pair of heavy plank doors with iron strap hinges and a ring pull. Low stone retaining walls and timber rails flank the stepped entry, and tufts of grass break the turf roof.

Cellars like this stored potatoes, apples and preserves on farms from the 1800s through the mid twentieth century, so it fits a homestead, smallholding or rural layout across a wide period range.

Tuck it into a hillside behind a farmhouse or barn, or use it on a wargame board as a bunker-like objective with a very civilian look.
