A bearded Sikh man squats low on his heels, forearms resting across his knees and hands loosely clasped, head turned slightly to one side as if listening. The full squat with heels down and feet bare is a resting posture, not a working one.
He wears a tall saffron-orange turban wound in visible layers, a long blue kurta with a buttoned placket and rolled cuffs over a red inner garment, and olive-green trousers gathered at the ankle. His full grey-streaked beard is left loose rather than tied.
He comes with a flat tiled circular base and locating pegs, so he sits cleanly on a courtyard, temple forecourt or market floor.
