Surface-Supplied Commercial Diver

A working diver standing on deck in full surface-supplied rig, both hands closed around a hand-held tool with a hose running from it. The stance is heavy and deliberate, the weight of the equipment pulling the shoulders down.

The gear is richly detailed: a rounded orange helmet with a large circular faceport, side fittings and a rear-mounted breathing hose; a yellow vulcanised drysuit with sealed cuffs, reinforced knee and thigh pads and cargo pockets; a chest harness with pressure gauges and a bailout cylinder strapped to the back; and long swim fins over the boots. A coiled umbilical line runs from the harness and loops across the round base behind him.

Ideal for a working harbour or offshore diorama: a dive tender or barge deck, a pier or lock repair, a salvage operation, or a shipyard scene on a layout. He also serves as a marine construction or rescue diver in a modern industrial vignette.
