A compact red brick utility building with pale sandstone quoins at every corner and a matching sandstone plinth course around the base. The gabled roof is laid in grey slate with a plain projecting eave and a simple boxed verge.

Three green-framed louvred vent windows are set between shallow brick pilasters, and a plank timber door with heavy brass hinges and a lock plate fills the gable end.

A perfect lineside pump house, water works, sub-station or wayside service hut for a late-1800s to mid-1900s railway or industrial diorama.
