A logging crew hand braced in a forward stance, hauling a steel choker cable with both gloved hands, the looped end and hook fitting clearly visible between them. He wears a hard hat with a mesh face screen flipped up and yellow ear defenders, a red plaid work shirt, blue bib overalls and battered lace-up boots.
The strained shoulders, bent knees and taut cable give the piece a real sense of load, and the plaid pattern, overall straps and hat fittings all read cleanly for painting. He stands on a round base textured as cracked, oil-stained ground.
Made for 1990s and later timber operations: a yarding landing, a skidder or grapple crew, a log deck or a rail loading spur on a layout. Group him with cables, chokers and stacked logs for a busy working landing in a diorama.
