Figural Lamp Statue with Globe

An ornate figural lamp standard in the classical revival style. A sculpted nude youth is seated astride a spread-winged eagle atop a stepped stone pedestal, one arm raised to lift a large spherical lamp globe crowned with a decorative finial, while a matching drop finial hangs alongside the post.

The elaborate statuary and ornamental ironwork suit a grand Victorian or Beaux-Arts setting, the kind of decorative lamp that graced a park entrance, a formal garden, or a mansion foyer.

Use it as a centerpiece ornament in a diorama, a station or plaza on a model railroad, or an upscale civic scene on a wargaming board.
