A hefty land tortoise plods forward on stout, scaly elephantine legs, its high domed shell segmented in green and brown scutes. The wrinkled neck stretches out and the beaked head lifts, giving the animal a slow, deliberate character.

This reptile adds natural interest to a zoo, desert, island or garden scene on a diorama or layout. Its calm bulk makes a fine standalone display or a companion to other wildlife.
