Young Emperor Penguin Standing

A juvenile emperor penguin standing upright on both feet, head turned slightly to one side and flippers held close to its body. The sculpt shows the soft, clumped down of a bird part-way through moulting, with a pale face patch, a dark curved bill and short scaled toes gripping the ground.

The colouring runs deep blue-grey across the back and flippers, white at the throat and belly, with a warm yellow-gold wash over the chest where an adult's collar markings would develop. At this age the bird is upright and rounded rather than sleek, which reads clearly even at small sizes.

Useful for a polar or Antarctic base scene, a zoo or aquarium enclosure on a town diorama, or a wildlife display shelf. Group several together with ice and snow scatter for a huddle, or pose one beside adult birds for a family grouping.
