Man Sunbathing on a Beach Towel

A muscular man stretched out flat on a rumpled beach towel, head tipped back to the sun with eyes closed and a broad grin, arms relaxed at his sides and bare feet crossed loosely at the ankles. He wears only navy swim briefs, and the anatomy is sculpted with defined chest, abdomen and shin lines that catch light well from above.

The integral oval plinth is a patch of coarse sand with smooth pebbles pressed into it, and the towel is modelled with soft creases and a raised trailing corner where it has been kicked up - small touches that keep the figure from looking like it is floating on a disc.

Ideal for a beach, lido or lakeside diorama, a resort or campsite scene on a layout, or as a relaxed civilian in a modern holiday vignette. Because the pose is fully horizontal it fills flat ground that standing figures cannot.
