Norse Shieldmaiden with Round Shield

A standing Norse warrior woman braced on a rocky base, one hand resting on the butt of a grounded spear and the other holding a large planked round shield turned toward the viewer. The shield face carries a raised triskele-style scroll device around a domed iron boss, with a studded rim band.

Her kit is layered and clearly cut: a heavy fur mantle over the shoulders, a leather bodice laced over a long-sleeved tunic with an embroidered arm bracer, a broad belt with hanging strap ends, close-fitting trousers and tall laced boots. Braided hair is bound back with a headband.

She anchors a Viking raiding party, a longhouse or coastal village scene, or a shield wall on a skirmish board, and stands equally well as a display piece on the round scenic plinth she comes on.
