Visible features and modeling intent
- Overall silhouette: the shape reads as a late 1990s to early 2000s mid-size American four-door sedan with a gently arced roofline, conventional trunk, and four-door proportions. The profile and roof-to-hood proportions favor clear silhouette recognition over year-accurate trim.
- Flat-shaded geometry: body panels are intentionally simplified to avoid fragile filigree at HO scale. Waistline trim, door seams and beltlines are indicated by shallow grooves or pads rather than separate geometry to increase robustness in small-scale prints.
- Closed windows and one-piece shell: the master ships with closed window openings so the shell prints as a single, strong piece at HO. Closed windows reduce thin-edge failures and provide a clean canvas for glazing cuts or mesh edits in larger scales.
- Suggested details: headlight, taillight and grille zones are modeled as shallow recesses and planar pads that read under paint and weathering. Wheel wells include solid hub geometry designed to survive small-scale printing; they are intended as replaceable elements for hobbyists who prefer aftermarket wheels or boolean edits.
Printing and scaling guidance
- Master scale: 1:87 (HO) — the canonical master STL included in this release. To print at another scale, uniformly rescale the master in your slicer (for example, scale by 87/48 to convert to 1:48) and then inspect critical thin features such as groove depth, hub thickness and recessed pads. After rescaling, consider increasing groove depth and hub thickness slightly if you plan FDM printing at small sizes.
- Orientation: for best side fidelity, print the shell lying on its roof with supports under wheel wells and underside features. This minimizes seam artifacts on the sides. Printing upright is possible but will require careful support placement under roof and trunk areas.
- Support notes: place supports under the wheel well lips and underside pads. Remove or thin supports near shallow recessed grille and light pads to avoid scarring. On resin prints use conservative support contact sizes for small pads.
- Post-processing and finishing: the master intentionally omits separate chrome trim, badges and fine spoke detail. Painting, decals and weathering are the recommended path to add era cues. If you need open windows, separate trim or spoke wheels, use boolean edits on the rescaled mesh and test-print before committing to a production run.

- If you require separate wheel files, open-window variants, or a tightly year-accurate conversion, use this 1:87 master as a starting point and perform mesh edits on the rescaled geometry. Always run a printability check after resampling and test key details at the intended output scale.
