Red Open-Front Farm Machine Shed

A single-span farm implement shed with barn-red board siding on the closed rear and gable ends, and a completely open front carried on square timber posts. The gable roof is corrugated metal, rust-streaked along the seams, and it oversails the front on exposed rafter tails.

Inside, low workbenches run along the back wall and a taller bench with a shelf sits at one end, so the interior is worth leaving visible. The whole building stands on a poured concrete curb, and a concrete apron with a ramped entry runs out from the open bay.

This is the shed that tractors, balers and pickups back into. It suits a mid-century to present-day North American farmstead, a grain elevator yard, a rural team track, or a maintenance building on an industrial or military site.
