A Victorian fire chief standing side-on with a flared brass speaking trumpet raised to his mouth, bellowing orders across the fireground while his other hand is clenched at his side.
He wears a long dark red wool coat with wide lapels and patch pockets over a waistcoat and dark trousers, tall brown leather boots, and a high leather helmet with a front shield, his greying beard and set jaw giving him plenty of authority.
Mounted on a round cobblestone base, he is the obvious command figure for an 1880s street fire, directing a hose crew, a steam pumper, or a bucket line in a gaslight-era town diorama or period layout.
