1880s Fireman Holding a Life Net

A Victorian-era fireman stands braced in a wide stance with both gloved hands out and gripping at waist height, the classic posture of a man holding the rim of a canvas life net beneath a burning building. His head is turned sharply up and to the side, watching the window above.
