1950s Fireman with Salvage Shovel

A mid-century city fireman stands with a long-handled salvage shovel resting against his shoulder, blade down and both gloved hands on the haft. The scowl and the slouched weight of the pose read as a man working overhaul on a burned-out building rather than fighting the fire itself.
