A present-day firefighter standing braced with feet apart, both gloved hands closed around a red valve wheel and a short length of coupling, turning it into the flow. His head is down and forward, watching the connection rather than the fire.
He is in full modern structural turnout gear: a yellow helmet with a numbered front shield, a face mask and regulator with the hose looped over the shoulder, and a dark coat and trousers banded with reflective striping at the cuffs, hem and chest. A radio strap crosses the coat and a belt with pouches sits at the waist.
Use him at the hydrant end of a working fire scene: charging a supply line, feeding a pumper, or holding a water point on a modern city street. He drops straight into a contemporary fire-response diorama, a firehouse scene on a layout, or a disaster board where emergency services are working the perimeter.
