Open-Sided Timber Maintenance Shed

An open-fronted timber storage shed: four heavy posts with metal base shoes and corroded strap brackets carry a pitched, corrugated metal roof with exposed rafter tails and gable purlins. The rear and one gable end are closed with vertical board cladding, while the front and side stay open for drive-in access. The whole structure sits on a jointed concrete slab.

Open bays make it genuinely useful scenery, because the interior can be loaded with grit piles, drums, cones, timber or a parked vehicle rather than left as a sealed box.

Well suited to highway depot and road maintenance yards, farm equipment stores, railway permanent-way compounds and rural industrial dioramas.
