Highway Maintenance Depot Barrier Shed

A long open-fronted maintenance shelter built on a concrete pad, with a corrugated metal roof and rear wall carried on heavy stacked timber posts and diagonal knee braces. A rusted metal skirt runs along the lower rear panel and a small service box is fitted to one bay.

The yard in front and under the canopy is filled with the depot's stock in trade: precast concrete jersey barriers standing in rows, a timber road trestle barricade, and anchor plates set into the concrete apron for tying loads down.

It fits a modern or mid-century highway department yard, a municipal works compound at the edge of a town layout, a construction staging area, or a checkpoint supply dump on a wargame board where spare barriers are stockpiled.
