Elevated Steel Water Tower with Walkway

An elevated water tower with a riveted steel tank carried on a braced timber and steel tower frame, topped by a conical roof with a small vent finial. A railed walkway runs right around the tank, reached by a ladder and a short stair landing, and the four legs sit on stepped concrete pads.

Weathered paint, streaked rust and a faded roof suggest decades of service, so it suits a depot, a small-town water supply, a farm co-op or an industrial yard from the early twentieth century onwards.

A classic vertical accent for a railway layout, and equally good as a landmark on a rural or post-apocalyptic wargame board.
