What you receive
- One 1:87 (HO) master STL: a graybox silhouette sculpt inspired by the Jaguar XJ-S two-door coupe family. This release is supplied as a single 1:87 master only; no additional scale-specific STL files are included. Use the conversion guidance below to print at other scales.
Design intent and visible features
- Silhouette-first sculpt: the model emphasizes the XJ-S family profile — a long bonnet and extended engine bay, a low gently curved roofline, compact cabin and tapering rear quarters with a short deck. Proportions are tuned to read clearly at tabletop distances for HO layouts and small-scale dioramas.
- Distinctive cues preserved: rounded wheel arches with simplified wheel wells, a pronounced sloping rear fender, oval headlamp housings and a long bonnet/cabin proportion are the primary visual cues. Surface detail is intentionally simplified: manufacturer badges, thin trim, door mirrors, aerials and separate delicate wheel spokes are omitted to improve printability at small scales and to provide a paint-and-detail base for hobbyists.
- Unbranded graybox approach: the sculpt is supplied without manufacturer scripts or badges. The silhouette is inspired by the Jaguar XJ-S family and is intended as a generic classic coupe prop suitable for period street scenes, garage dioramas and kitbashing.
Scale, conversion and sizing
- Master supplied at 1:87 (HO). This single master is the only file included. To print at another scale, uniformly scale the model by the ratio 87/target_denominator (for example, to print at 1:76 multiply model size by 87/76 ≈ 1.145). Always use uniform scaling; do not nonuniformly stretch axes.
Printing notes and recommended settings
- Recommended for small-scale print fidelity: resin (SLA/DLP) printing will best preserve the smooth roofline and clean bonnet silhouette at HO. FDM printing is possible but will show layer texture on larger planar surfaces such as the hood and roof; if using FDM, use a fine nozzle (0.25–0.4 mm) and low layer heights (0.10–0.2 mm), and orient the body to minimize visible seam lines.
- Fragile appendages intentionally omitted: door mirrors, thin badges and aerials are not present on the master to reduce fail points during printing at HO. Wheels are simplified wells to accept aftermarket or separately printed wheel sets; this also reduces thin-wall problems inside arches.
- Support and orientation: orient the body to keep the bonnet and roof as support-free as practical; add supports under wheel-arch interiors and under the rear valance. Check arch interiors for bridging when slicing.
Postprocessing and customization
- The simplified surfaces are ideal for sanding, priming and painting. After printing you can add door seams, badges, mirrors and trim with fine styrene, wire, or aftermarket parts. Wheels can be fitted postprint from commercial HO wheelsets or printed separately and glued into the simplified wells. The graybox approach is intended as a base for detailing, kitbashing, roadster conversions, or lowered hotrod variants.

- Designed for hobbyists building 1970s–1980s street scenes, station forecourts, garage/repair shop dioramas and HO railway layouts that require a compact British coupe silhouette. Works equally well as a display prop for collectors who want a paintable base without fragile microdetail.
Legal and provenance notes
- The sculpt is a graybox silhouette inspired by the Jaguar XJ-S two-door coupe family. Manufacturer badges and scripts have been intentionally removed and the file is supplied unbranded. Stage 1 metadata originated from an automated legacy stub and identity confidence for exact provenance is low; the XJ-S attribution is silhouette-based rather than confirmed from manufacturer assets.
