A frontier woodsman caught at the top of an axe swing, both hands high on a long felling axe with the head cocked back over his shoulder. He wears a red and black buffalo plaid shirt, braces over dark work trousers, and tall laced boots.

A striped knit cap sits over dark hair, and the lean, wiry build and set jaw fit a nineteenth-century camp hand. The stone-flagged hexagonal base is neutral enough for a yard, a road or a woodpile.
