A bearded logging-camp teamster from the 1880s, striding forward with a long pike pole balanced across one shoulder and a steel cant hook gripped in his free hand. He wears a knit watch cap, a blue work shirt under a heavy leather vest, stagged wool trousers and tall lace-up caulked boots.

The pose reads as a man walking a log deck or driving a team of oxen down a skid road, which makes him a natural centrepiece for a nineteenth-century timber camp, a mill pond, or a logging railroad transfer siding.

Pair him with skidded logs, an ox team, or a flat car of timber to bring a Victorian-era forestry scene to life on a layout or a display base.
