Logging Camp Saw Filer at Work

He is dressed for a working camp: a knitted watch cap, a heavy plaid flannel shirt with the sleeves pushed up, denim bib overalls with the straps buckled over the shoulders, leather work gloves and tall lace-up caulked boots scuffed to bare leather at the toes. The overalls are sculpted with knee wear, patch pockets and hard-used creasing.

He suits any timber operation from the late nineteenth century through the mid twentieth: a bunkhouse door, a filing shack, a landing beside a skid road, or a sawmill yard. Put him beside stacked logs and hand tools in a logging diorama, or use him to add working life to a logging railroad layout.
