A Victorian-era track labourer at the top of a hammer swing, both hands high on a long wooden haft and his weight braced across a wide stance. He wears a soft checked flat cap, a collarless button work shirt with the sleeves pushed up, heavy trousers and battered ankle boots, and stands on a small integrated ballast base.
The raised hammer gives him a tall, dramatic outline that reads instantly among a group of stooped workers, so he makes a good centrepiece for a section gang.
Fits 1870s-1900s railway construction dioramas, frontier and industrial-age layouts, and any scene depicting new line being laid or old track being repaired.
