An underground hard-rock miner striding forward with a long-handled shovel held across his body, blade angled down and ready to muck out broken rock. He wears faded blue coveralls with a shoulder strap, a domed hard hat with a front-mounted lamp, and a cable running back from the lamp to a battery on his belt.

Tall rubber knee boots, a wide leather belt and rolled sleeves complete the working dress. The shovel is a separate sculpted shaft and blade, and the forward-leaning stance gives the figure real motion rather than a static standing pose.

He is a natural fit for a 1950s mine portal, an ore-loading bay beside a mine tramway, or a hillside mining scene on a narrow-gauge layout. He also pairs well with ore cars, timbering and rock scatter in a display case vignette.
