Shotcrete Nozzleman Spraying Concrete

A tunnelling worker braced on the spray nozzle of a shotcrete line, both gloved hands locked on the grips and the heavy supply hose snaking down behind his legs. He leans into the job with one foot forward, aiming the nozzle up and out at the rock face.

Full protection is sculpted on: a yellow hard hat with a cap lamp and cable, clear goggles, a twin-cartridge respirator over the mouth and nose, red ear defenders, and orange coveralls with reflective piping. A small extinguisher-style canister and a self-rescuer pouch hang from his belt.

Made for a modern tunnel, mine drive or underground works scene. Set him against a rough excavated wall with a spray rig and a crew boss and the whole heading looks like an active shift rather than an empty bore.
