A logging crewman braces in a wide stance, hauling a looped steel choker cable hand over hand with both gloved fists. A coil of rope hangs from his belt at the hip, and the frayed wire rope in his hands is sculpted with visible strand twist.
He wears modern forestry safety kit: an orange hard hat with a flip-up wire face screen and ear defenders, a hi-vis yellow vest over a green plaid work shirt, brown leather chaps buckled over blue jeans, and heavy caulked logging boots. This is 1990s and later working gear, not a period costume.
Set him on a landing beside a yarder, a skidder, or a stack of bucked logs, and the cable in his hands immediately explains what the whole scene is doing. He suits logging railroad layouts, timber camp dioramas and modern industrial forestry scenes.
