An airborne soldier hitting the ground badly: knees buckled, torso pitched forward and both arms flung out to catch himself while the canopy still billows overhead behind him. The rigging lines fan up from his harness to the collapsing chute, giving the whole piece a real sense of falling weight.
He wears a camouflage jungle uniform with a covered steel helmet and chin strap, a full chest reserve harness with quick-release fittings, and jump boots. The sculpted ground base is scuffed earth with tufts of grass.
Built for a Vietnam-era drop zone diorama or a training jump scene, and useful as an arriving reinforcement marker on a mid-twentieth century wargaming table.
