Vietnam Era Paratrooper Landing

A Vietnam-era American paratrooper crouched low on landing, rifle raised in one hand while the other braces against the ground. He wears leaf-pattern camouflage fatigues, a covered steel helmet, a webbing harness and a bulky equipment bag strapped across the front of his thighs.

Behind him the orange and white canopy has collapsed into a broad rosette, with suspension lines trailing back to his harness. The base is dry sand dotted with tufts of scrub.
