Wooden Playground Sandbox with Corner Seats

A square timber sandbox built from wide planks with chunky corner posts and flat capping boards that double as seats. The frame sits on a low ground pad, and the interior is filled with heaped sand that mounds toward the middle and dips into a smooth flat patch on one side.

The woodgrain is cut deeply enough to catch a wash, and the corner caps read clearly as the spot where children sit while they dig. One capping board is angled across a corner to give a wider perch.

Useful anywhere a family scene needs a focal point: a municipal park, a schoolyard, a backyard behind a suburban house, a campground play area or a dollhouse garden. Timeless enough to work from mid-century through to the present day.
